Just finished an inkle loom for Bulldog Lady... made it out of scrap particle board as a test and if she likes it will probably redo the sides in a nice pine or something that does not splinter as much as the particle board....
I made it kinda large (go figure) so it is 8 inches wide inside and will do minimum 64" span with out any additional pegs... if I add all six additional pegs i figure I could get almost 100 inches in length... The shuttle I made out of a piece of 1/2 pine that I sanded down on one edge to a point and then notched the short ends to hold the wool.  as soon as she gets the project she is working on done and starts on a strap i will get some pictures and post them - along with her critique of my (abysmal) wood working skills!

I've been thinking about making one lately. I've seen a lot of different styles of inkle looms, which style did you make? How about giving some details on how you made it.

Ditto on the want to see!! If ya need it later on I've a few stray pieces of oak and cedar lumber. PM me if ya want.

Loom is working great, some operator/weaver errors here and there but working quite nice.  On second strap and learning more little tricks as go-also different yarns work different.  suggest anyone wanting to try it its, fun.

I found that video quite by chance and must have watched it three times I was so fascinated by it.  Glad you got something out of it too.

OK, now I know what you were talking about....I've seen end product but had no idea how they could be make without some big complicated thing....your inkle loom thingie would be a good thing to just sit around in the evening and work on by the wood stove...

seems with an adjustment of materials you could custom make any straplike object-gunslings ,sashes, headbands, belts,Tumplines etc.Handy item!!

Very relaxing once get it strung up, no loosing place on pattern or at least on the ones I've tried. Doesn't take hardly any material to weave with.  Book I have says can even sew them together to make bags or use fine threads for jewelry, add beads- lots of possibilities.
