Ok, just a quick update then this will be moved to 'gone shooting' then hopefully to 'Trade Blanket". I was able to try the single screw version of the sight on my .32 cal Green Mt, IBS, TC Hawken barrel. Just to get it straight, I am not a primitive/notch & blade shooter. I shoot tang and receiver sights almost exclusively. This was very educational as I had to learn this all over again.

With that said, my goal was to see how well the single screw sight held zero through a session of shooting. I tried several notch variations. I found one that allowed (for me) dime sized groups (only a couple  ;D) at 20 yds.
I was pleasantly surprised and was able to adjust, file, the sight to zero after a few three shot groups. I did have to shift the notch to the right and take about .050" off the top as expected in three sessions. All filing was done with the sight in place and  when shooting was complete, was followed by a not too gentle standard bucket cleaning.

After 45 shots, repeated filing, and thorough cleaning, the sight showed no signs of movement. Another session is planned for tomorrow with a .54 with full hunting loads and will be posted in the proper forum, 'Gone Shooting'.

Here is a much better picture of the notch that I have filed in the sight;

I have yet to make it to the range but after using a round file on the back, the front bead sits right inside the notch.  I'm just guessing but right now it will probably be hitting high relative to the point of aim, but after I get it where I want it I'll apply some cold blue to it and match the barrel although it looks kinda neat as is.
