went shooting today, took the Traditions Pennsylvania and Lyman GPR.  I recently polished the pan and frizzen spring on the traditions.   Hoped it would help and seems it did.  didn't have any hangfires, and only a couple missfires. LR lock suppposedly prefers english flints, but had missfires.  Found it does like Pierce flints. Still need to work on the vent liners interior.  Was shooting a 50 yds, off a rest.  No offhand for me, not yet anyway.  The Traditions shot good.   Was using 45 gr goex 3f with .490 rb and .020 patch strips.  Then I switched to the Lyman GPR,  tried hunting charge.  Loaded with 75 gr 3f, .490rb and .020 patch strip.  Usually use 2F.  Did lousy.  Switched to 75 gr 2F, .495 rb and .020 patch strip and shot great, atleast for me.  last 6 shots, 4 in 2" bull, with 2 to left of bull, 6 shots in 2" x 3" area.  Now to get shooting sticks and find a grazing deer at 50 to 70 yds.  Did try the same load in the Traditions and found that even though it was sighted in at 50 yds with 45 gr 3f,  with 75 gr 2f, it shot 3" high.  Dead center as before.  This would/should be good for 100 yds.  More work to be done on that rifle/load combo.  Then to decide which rifle to take hunting.  and if my body can take it.  all in all a Great Day.    It got even better when I met a fellow TMC member at range.  That made  it a PERFECT DAY

I have a lousy memory for names, I searched the member data and can't find his handle.  I do remember that his real name is John.  He became a member around early spring but has only posted a few times.  We talked a good 1/2 hour.  When I start talking , its hard to shut me up.  We were there to shoot not talk.  John just recently started shooting bp.  John was shooting a Lyman rifle.  Percussion, 50cal.  If you read this John, I apologise for not remembering your site name, even after you told twice.  John was preping for Whitetail deer season.  Hope he gets a shot at one!  Shouldn't be too difficult, here in Pa, seems like they are everywhere. That is until deer season, then they take a vacation and disapear until spring.  Hopefuly we will meet again.
