This belongs to a friend of mine. He is remodeling his house right now, but when he is done, I get to go over there and take it apart to see if there are any markings hidden underneath anywhere. It is real similar to the guns made by (I think I have this right) W.S. Chase in Putnam County, Ohio, a gun builder from the mid 1800's. I will keep the forum apprised.

I have to agree with Mongrel on this one as far as being a parts gun, or a later restock. The only thing I would say differently is that I think it was a later rifle, more into the 70's period.
