Mongrel, this little Jaeger really sleek and trim and not the least bit "clubby".  With the lop cut down to 12.5" to 13", a 31" or slightly longer swamped barrel of either .54 or .58 and (maybe) even .62 and a few personal touches, this would be my dream gun.  I think I like it better than the Christian Springs rifle I asked you about a while back.  You really know what buttons to push.  I truly like where you're going with this rifle. thmbsup
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Just to keep things in perspective -- if you want to lay eyes on truly exquisite beauty, do a search for Steve Zihn and check the jaegers he builds. Far different price range than my work, but worth every penny IMHO.

And Davehawk and Pathfinder and several others who share this camp with us do better-than-fine work. You have to attach the phrase "for the money" when rating my stuff, and I have no problem with that. It's the niche I found that needed filling and just what I needed to make a go of this. Their work doesn't require qualification, it's just flat-out freakin' nice by any monetary, artistic, or other standard.

Here be the nearly-finished product. I'm going to apply more oil but, essentially, this is it. Things aren't QUITE as dark as they appear -- it was getting on toward dusk when I took these shots -- but the gun overall is a fairly dark piece. I like the effect -- hope the new owner will as well.

Damn, that is beautiful! Now I REALLY want one.
Do they come in men's sizes?  ROFL
But, how backlogged are you at the moment?

Anything I build can be had in any size a person wants. That's the beauty of handmade guns -- pretty much any size customer can be accomodated.

I'm booked into early April and if I get a couple or a few more orders it'll jump from sometime in late April or early May, to late June -- I have to leave a window open for having a few things ready for the June NMLRA Shoots at Friendship, which traditionally begin on the second weekend of the month.
