Been a slowly working on the trade gun build and figured I'd post some photos of my progress. Since my last post I've made and installed the ram rod pipes, got the stock shaped and stained, installed the trigger, cut a simple molding along the fore stock and yesterday I went back to Ken's and made my side plate, installed the vent liner, soldered the front sight and Ken started some engraving on the butt plate and my initials on the barrel. I inlet the side plate. I hope to have it finished up soon.

Tom she's a Deluxe Siler. I just gave the stock its first coat of linseed oil and will be ready to have Ken finish up the engraving next and will be doing age finish then also. I'll post her when I finish.

Woody, Thats a very nice slick looking flinter. You did an excellent job on it. Really love the finish. Have you shot it yet? Let us know how it shoots!!

Red Badger

Looks great!  Let us know how she shoots!

Thanks everyone. I really enjoyed this build but I think I need to try a rifle next. I think four smooth bore long guns plus one in the planning  stage and two smooth bore pistols in my rack are enough........for now anyway.  ROFL

I need to find a place to sight in and do some tinkering closer to home. Unfortunately I lost my local shooting and hunting area when my close friend sold his farm and moved to Tennessee this month.
