This is an original 1864 Burnside Carbine rifle.

I also have 44 rounds of Reproduction Brass for it and it has a new Stainless Steel Nipple(I have the original nipple also).

As can be seen in the pictures it has matching serial numbers. I tried to get pictures that accurately represent the condition. The stock is dark but the original stamping can still be seen, there are several chips and dents in the stock.

The metal work is as appears with a well aged patina and nearly none of the original color case hardening showing.

The bore is in good shape with definitive lands and grooves but does have some frosting and some light pitting but it still shoot well. And as can be seen from the bore picture the chamber seat and the crown are both in good shape.

It is completely mechanically functional. This would be a great piece for restoration or a re-enactor or just for a nice hunting rifle.
