Well folks I'm new to this....well actually haven't even started. I had a teacher in high school that would go to the mountain man rendezvous and I was always intrigued. I'm looking for a new hobby and always though this would be cool. If any of you guys have links to places for goods and links to different rendezvous near Oklahoma...please let me know. Thanks guys

Big Bear, Welcome to the forum.  Check out the "Links" board.  Lots of good sites to visit.  Of course we would like to see you purchase some sort of "traditional" muzzleloader. :)  You might want to go to Cabelas site to see if there is a type traditional muzzleloader that fits your budget.

You might go to the TPWD Black Powder Basics.  The site gives you some dos, don'ts, and how tos. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/learning/hunter_education/homestudy/muzzleloader/index.phtml
