I have a beautiful custom built 12Ga that Rusty built out of a L.C. Smith single barrel trap gun. Very unusual firearm. I wouldn't part with it for anything. Will post a few pictures if anyone would like to see it.  flwa

I really don't know all the stuff that Rusty did. The gun weighs all of 5 and a half pounds. Throws up better than any shotgun I have ever owned. I use 80 grains of goex and a equal amount of shot. It is really chocked tight. Will take a turkeys head off at 40 yards. Wish I could give you more detail. I might see Rusty next week. If I do I will try to get more details. I was in his shop this morning but only to get goex powder and ramrod ends for a .32 I squirrel hunt with.

Numrich has unchambered LC Smith barrel blanks for those who want to try building a gun.  At about $18 a barrel, they are a bargain.

I got one and the bore is shiny.  Exterior is dirty with some rust but steel wool takes care of that.  In a couple of years I may have learned enough to actually finish a gun from scratch rather than a kit.
