i wish i knew which Cerro Gordo this is. there is one just north of me in the owens valley

Yes and no, I have not gotten deep in the research of Mexican history
but I have not seen California called any thing but California, Most every
thing else was called Mexico or a province of Mexico. It seems like it was
a whole different country that was governed from Mexico City.
