A number of years ago,before we called it "Trekking",we refered to it as "PackIn". Took what we needed on our persons for the week of hunting primitive style. I ALWAYS complained that the items  we have were much to big! My good friend Jack Perry, master tinsmith made this proper candel lantern for me. Needless to say,I quit complaining. One of the coolest items I own and it's always with me in my medicine pouch around my neck. Thats a birthday cake candle that's used. not much light,but cool anyway!

I suppose ya could, this was hand made as is all of Jack's stuff. His candle lanterns are he only one's I use.His cups and coffee and tea pots are THE best!

Not sure how much use it would be in real use, but you got to hand it to the guy, it is definately cool.

It isn't practicle at all as a lantern, but I chuckle every time I see it,and thats more usefull than light sometimes!
