Needed something to go along with my sheath, so..........I came up with this.

And yes a dog chew was again the source of the rawhide. The rest was scraps I had laying around, and waxed cotton string.

Plainsman, you have really got my attention.  I need a better way of carrying pre-lubed patches and op wads and this looks like just what I need.  I'm guessing you bought the really big doggie chews?  What type thread and did you wax it yourself?  You're good. thmbsup

The thread I used is sold at Hobby Lobby, more then likely Tandy leather carries it as well. And it comes prewaxed. They sell brown and black.

The dog chew was a 10".

Just have to say it but the texture of the rawhide looks kinda like a shrunken head. pnic

I saw some pig skin rolls in the pet section of the grocery store.  They could be rolled out to sheets of hide.  Cost wasn't bad, either.  Whatcha think?  would it work?
