.50 cal. cap lock smoothbore

Have a 32 bore .50 cal. little smoothie for sale.  Has a Belgium 31" barrel, an older Dixie mt. rifle cap lock.  1/2 stock maple, steel trim.  Made my me from a blank of Oregon wood.  weigh's little over 3 1/2 lb.  Has a sling for long walks.  Shoots a nice pattern @ 15 yd. with 40 g. fffg & equal shot.  not bad with a .490 PRB either.  To a good home $ 350.00 delivered to USA.    ....Tom

Could someone explain to me the USE of a smoothbore? I don't hunt birds, and a CLOSE deer or elk is 80+ yards. What are the good for? I just don't see that they have a use.

Depends on where you are hunting.  I have actually been able to reach out and spank a doe from my blind while she was looking the other direction.   For me a long shot is 50 yds.  Never put powder burns on one yet but it has been close.
