Prayers for searchers

 For those of you in the Midwest the events of the triple homicide near Ottawa Kansas are not news perhaps. The rest of you reading this might need the details, 3 people were killed on a remote farm and an 18 month old child is missing and now believed dead too.

  There are over 150 volunteers on a massive area search for the remains and evidence. The lucky ones will find nothing, less lucky ones will find some evidence. The truly unfortunate will find Lana's remains. That is an event which can haunt a person for many years to come.

Now here is the prayer request. Please keep all of the volunteers in your thoughts and prayers. In particular be prayerful for the one(s) that find Lana. He/she will need our support for a peaceful soul after such a finding.

Thought an update is in order. The local MSAR team is back home. None the worse for the experience, other than riding 12 miles of ditches and roadsides in two days.

Lana has not yet been found so there is still searching to be done. Thank you one and all for your prayers!

My brother is a police officer who has seen terrible things (and that's just the ones he speaks of, indicating to me that what he will NOT speak of is the stuff of nightmares), and the one thing he still to this day says was the very worst was comforting a small boy hit by a car, assuring him he'd be okay, as the boy died before any other help could arrive.

Not the same as finding a dead child, when however remote the chance the hope is to find her alive, but I get where you're coming from, Otter, and prayers are up.

Thanks for sharing that and the prayers of course. For the most part my demons of thirty years in Public Safety have been laid to rest. This incident has caused a few others to stir making me realize they are not yet expunged. Just another burden to lay at the feet of the almighty who can heal all.
