Yep, the sight is too low.  Does anyone know how the sight is attached?  It is not dovetailed but goes into a hole in the barrel.  I don't know if it is threaded, pressed in or soldered.  I would like to get it out and make a new one but I don't want to break it off in the barrel.  I have heard of filing a dovetail in the barrel but I'm nervous about trying that.

I'm no smith but silver soldering one on would be my first choice.  IIRC the front sight is screwed in but they may have started "pressing" them in.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Pietta was pretty good about answering my questions on a pistol and sent me a parts breakdown when I asked for one. try emailing them at https://www.pietta.it/home-pietta-eng  although it helps to write the email in Italian...
