The Arizona people have stepped up after the NMLRA cancelled the Western Shoot.  They are continuing the shoot without the national organization.  Here's a link to the site if anyone is interested.

Want to visit it at least once... My big question is why did the NMRA cancel the western shoot?  Do they deserve the title National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association anymore?

My understanding is that it has not been profitable for the foundation. I hope the Northeastern is not next.

I am a Member of the NMLRA and I do understand the profitable aspect....But when I Joined the NMLRA had several more programs going on, that have been canceled because of "Not being profitable" and why should the members dues be used for them...

But the big reason to join the NMLRA is Precisely Because they had all the Programs!!
And just because I don't go to the Western Shoot does not mean I do not want it funded or supported!

Enjoyed the Western National for 11 yrs.  Missed one acct. broken target rifle and no grandson to take and one actt, Chemo had me to weak to lift even my squirrel rifle (4 1/2 lb) and couldn't see sights.  Went to unsponsored  shoot this year with oldest grand son and shot poorly.  Still too weak, but had fun and brought home 5 metals anyhow. Darned kid out shot me.  Phys.Ther. says I will not be shooting next year, especially not my #50 stick bow.
