Dropped by Draco Supply today and got an American made Osborne arch punch for eighteen bucks. Very cool.

I've often thought about getting an arch punch to cut out patches but the cost has always been the road block for me.  I may drop by the Drago Supply here in town and see what that have on special.

Here's their webpage for Arch Punches...I called up the 1-1/16" punch.  Scroll down for a list of punches to click on.  http://dragosupply.com/drago/servlet/CyberVendor/category/G5119812/catalog/group.jsp/?markProd=4022843

Mr. Rayl is fixin' to send my fast twist forty so I'm gonna need to experiment with some over-powder wads. No tellin' what's gonna work. The 7/16" punch seemed like a likely pick. It might work for a 44 too but pro'bly jes a teentsy bit too small. Well, we'll see.

Spitunia be sure to let us know how everything works when you do get your rifle.  That might make a very good hog rifle.

Will do Sir!

If they work for the forty, let me know,  I'm trying some slugs in mine and haven't tried the over powder wads yet.

Those 7/16" wads appear to work just fine. Haven't sat down to serious target work yet, just bouncing the iron pig. Might get to do some more soon. Sent an old NEI mold off to get recut with a couple of 380 grain designs, a spire point and a flat point...cost less than buying just one new mold from Lymans or RCBS. Now that's CHEAP! So, soon Little Sheba's gonna beller for sure and we'll see how those home made wads behave. Gonna find an old double boiler at a charity shop and make some waxed wads with that punch too.

The price on the same punch is up about 40%.  fght

Workmanship looks a little rough..but it's just going to be beat on with a hammer and sharpened by chucking in drill press and spun against a file...good enough and cheap too.
