Had a lucky day today

Friend of mine who used to do a lot of buckskinin gave me a tent today.

12x14 diamond, heavy canvas, leather reinforced attaching points with a privacy door to boot, its been waterproofed
real good, just need to make the poles, stakes.
when the weather settles down here will set it up and take pics.

I use wood from the trees around here for my Diamond... looks better to me than a store bought piece of finished wood, and it it isn't exactly straight up and down.... oh well....

Also suggest if it hasn't been up recently get a bundle of sage and smoke the inside lightly... it will drive the bugs away... and make it smell nice...

No sage here or I would do that.
Will have to wait until I can set it up to see what needs to be done, it has been stored in a closed bag
but needs to be unfolded and put up for a while.

Whats the best way to clean it up a bit?

I just wash mine with an Ivory soap and water mix... Also Do Not fold it... if you fold it you always put the creases in the same place and weaken it... when dry just stuff it in the bag and it will not crease in the same place each time... At least thats what I was told..

You can order sage from some of the suppliers, and I got some seeds to start my own (for next year) from the local garden store...

You may want to get some sage from somewhere as well as some sweet grass (both can be found online or at many vous'. In native tradition, sage is a cleansing herb used to push away evil or negative influence or spirits and the sweet grass is to draw in good influence or spirits. They are both used as a smudge, and also smell very nice.
  I always smudge my camp and make sure I have both of them hanging inside my tent.

Thanks for the advice fellas, need all the good spirits I can muster up for sure, think I will make a small bag of each and keep it with the canvas when its stored also.

thats where I keep mine... although I have to get some sweet grass only have sage now...
